Updates to the Web Management Portal

To ensure you're always on the latest version, check out whats included in any updates our team make!

We're always striving to improve your experience when using the Safer Schools Isle of Man Web Management Portal. This might be through finding and fixing bugs, listening to feedback from schools or local councils or redesigning something to reduce any user error or confusion when using the portal.

To ensure you're always on the latest version, see the most recent version number below and past updates. It will also share with you what we've added or changed at each stage and what it means for you as a school admin.

LATEST UPDATE

Version 2.2.2 (6/2/2024)

What did we do?

  • Push Notification role selection and News Article role selection have been further aligned, streamlining user experience.
What does this mean for you?
  • If you wish to publish a News Builder to all users and send a push notification, you will be able to save and send without ticking all of the role boxes, allowing you to complete the process quicker, and will ensure your news has an audience if you forget to select any.
  • Subsequently, when you now send a Push Notification to this article, it will ensure users are notified. Previously, if Admins had forgotten to select All Roles or any roles for that matter, the Push would not have been able to go anywhere.

Previous Versions

Version 2.2.0 (19/1/24)

What did we do?

  • Enhanced Push Notification Service to mitigate intermittent delivery discrepancies affecting a limited user base.

What does this mean for you?

  • A small number of users have recently experienced delays to receiving Push Notifications, or seemingly not receiving them at all. The enhancement to the Push Notification service addresses this concern and should result in noticeable changes in the receipt of Push Notifications amongst users.

Version 2.1.0 (21/12/23)

  • Optimised filtering on the analytics Dashboard

  • Directory entry previewing modification.

  • Adding the Version History menu item.

What does this mean for you?

  • Ensure your whole message will be seen when sending a Push Notification by not making it too long!
  • When sending a Push Notification to a News Builder Article, a date and time stamp will appear next to your articles in the drop down menu so you can be sure you’re always sending to the most recent version.
  • Government organisations can view the authoring organisation of a Push Notification in the List view from the Dashboard for effective management.
  • You’ll only see Surveys that your school/organisation can edit/delete
  • Staff Directory tab has been renamed to Staff and School Directory
  • Staff Directory entries can now be made available for viewing by Government users only.
  • Government users will be able to publish Surveys for viewing by their organisation only if desired.
  • Bulk Delete functions will be available in a list view. This applies to push notifications, news builder articles, digital test results, directories, and surveys.
  • In all Charts across your portal (Digital Test results, Roles by User group etc) the total number of a given value will appear when you hover over the data point in the graph.
  • Filter more accurately using the Date filtering option on the Analytics Dashboard.
  • You can now view all directory entries as they would appear in the App in Contact Card format with a profile picture, clickable buttons etc. as well as an overview of the roles it is viewable to.
  • You’ll be able to see all recent updates and enhancements to your Web Management Portal in the Version History page as well as when it was updated and the Version Number so you can ensure you’re always on the latest version.

  • When sending a Push Notification to a News Builder Article, the most recently created one will be at the top of the list.
  • If you experienced a blank white screen recently when trying to access the portal, this should no longer happen!
